Laser Cut Cherry Blossoms
What could be more perfect than laser cut cherry blossoms and all the DC landmarks for a spring wedding in Washington, DC? This laser cut wrap was a custom design for a May wedding at the Andrew Mellon Auditorium, inspired by the profile of DC cherry trees against the Jefferson Memorial and Washington Monument. A beautiful pink cherry tree in full blossom folds over one side of the invitation inside, over the other side of the wrap featuring all the prominent Washington monuments and landmarks. The invitation pieces themselves were printed in beautiful gray letterpress ink, on 100% cotton paper.
The Detail of Laser Cutting
To create the small and delicate design of the cherry blossoms and DC scene, nothing was more perfect than laser cutting to achieve each tiny detail. As an added touch, the silver paper for the wrap was first printed in pink on one side, before the laser cutting was done, to give the feel of the pink hues of cherry blossoms and to contrast with the silver monuments and buildings underneath. The result was a truly unique and elegant laser cut wrap, further highlighted by the always-stunning letterpress print inside. A Different Kind of Beach Theme Wedding, Coral and Waves
Our client came to us and wanted something a little different but her wedding invitation had to include waves, coral shapes and a monogram for her and her future husband. She loved the look and feel of letterpress and wanted texture and a touch of gold foil. With that in mind, we inserted a design pattern of waves into a quatrefoil border which raised the center panel giving this set the desired textured. Now that the main invitation design was complete all we had to do to pull it all together is add some design elements to the other cards including coral inks. You have to admit everything looks better when it is letterpressed.
Recently we decided to play around with the way that we display our invitation designs on the web and thought that stop motion would be a fun experiment. There’s sound to this video so if you’re in an office make sure your speakers are turned down as to not alert your coworkers that your searching for the perfect wedding invitations.

Quatrefoil Pattern Wedding Invitations
- Customizable
- 100% cotton paper
- Matching pieces available
- Minimum order quantity 50

Quatrefoil Invitations in Yellow and Gray
These custom wedding invitations feature an elegant quatrefoil pattern, in a beautiful combination of gray, yellow, and white. Created here in our Washington DC studio, these letterpress invitations also highlight the couple’s custom monogram made from the same quatrefoil motif. A great look for a romantic wedding with modern sensibilities.
Blind Debossing and Yellow Edge Painting
The main print feature is the “blind” debossed pattern, where the design is letterpressed without ink. This creates a striking look and texture with the deep pressing in thick cotton 220lb letterpress paper. The same effect also creates a unique textured background pattern on the reception card. The whole look is accented by a yellow painted edge on the invitations, and yellow patterned envelope liner.
